What is the climax? What happens? How do the events of this novel make you feel?

I think the climax of the novel is when Winston gets caught by the thought police, and he becomes brainwashed. The whole point of view changes at this point, and the character reverse his ways of living. Instead of having his own mind and taking charge of himself, he leaves his mind to be controlled by the party. His past, they don't matter to him, as he said to torture Julia instead of himself. Winston formed into this new person O'Brien had made into.

Also, this novel made me feel disgusted throughout. There are 4 ministries in 1984. Ministry of Truth, Ministry of Love, Ministry of Plenty, and Ministry of Peace. And all their names are so paradoxical. The Ministry of Peace concerns itself with war, the Ministry of Truth with lies, the Ministry of Love with torture and the Ministry of Plenty with starvation. Yet people don't realize that because they're always being told lies by the party, and they have no way to confirm that it's not true. So they just accept everything the party say, and live without complaining about anything.
